Board of Directors
Prince Albert & District Community Futures has maintained a tradition of operating under the leadership of a representative, committed, and knowledgeable Board of Directors. This talented group is characterized by a broad age demographic and wide ranging sector representation. The following volunteers are members of our Board of Directors:

Kristie Stead
Chair
Kristie is a CPA, CA with 15 years experience serving small and medium owner-managed businesses, with a focus on tax. She also has experience as a small business owner. Kristie grew up in the Prince Albert area and has been on the Community Futures board since 2019 serving on both the Audit and Credit Committee. Kristie enjoys spending quality time with her family and being outdoors, specifically at the lake.

Patty Hughes
Vice-Chair
Patty Hughes is a dedicated community leader and long-standing volunteer with the Community Futures program, contributing over 16 years of service. She has held key roles including Chair of her local board and continues to serve on the Credit Committee and Audit & Finance. Patty’s leadership extends across the CF Network, having served as Chair of Community Futures Saskatchewan, Vice-Chair of Pan-West Community Futures, and President of the Community Futures Network of Canada.
Beyond her work with Community Futures, Patty is deeply committed to local initiatives. She serves on the boards of the Buckland Fire Department and Hatchet Lake Development Limited Partnership, and is a past director with SaskWater. Most recently, Patty earned her Corporate Board designation through the Institute of Corporate Directors via the Rotman Directors Education Program, further strengthening her governance expertise.

Teresa Hanson
Past Chair
Teresa Hanson has been on the PACF board since 2019. Supporting entrepreneurs with their business ventures is of utmost importance as she too is an entrepreneur. In addition to being a small business owner, Teresa has spent her career in the construction industry in Saskatoon and for the last number of years in Prince Albert. Teresa has 3 small children with her husband. She enjoys cooking and baking throughout the winter, camping and fishing in the summer.

Ryan Court
Director
Ryan has been in the Electrical Trade for 27 years. He has been a co-owner of Asiil Enterprises Ltd. for the last 8 years. He has been on the Prince Albert Constructions Association board for 12 years with 2-years as President. He has also been on the Saskatchewan Bid Depository Inc. for the last 5 Years and is a long-time member of Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association. When he spends his time away from work he is with his wife and 3 boys – hunting, fishing, camping and cooking.

Barb Gustafson
Director
Barb Gustafson received her PhD in Educational Administration from the University of Saskatchewan with a focus on vocational education. She also holds a B.Ed., BA (English) and MBA from the U of S, as well as certificates in adult learning, recognition of prior learning, and program evaluation. Barb recently retired as Interim Dean of Hospitality & Tourism and Human Services & Community Safety at Saskatchewan Polytechnic after serving in the permanent role of Special Advisor to the Provost. Previously, she was with the Prince Albert Daily Herald for 15 years as managing editor and publisher. She is a past member of the local credit union board, the Clarence Campeau Development Fund (Metis Economic Development), city council and the P.A. Community Foundation. Along with husband, Grant, she enjoys time with their family, including six grandchildren.

Steve Jeffers
Director
Steve is a local business partner with too many years of experience. Steve is the current Chair of the Rose Garden Hospice and Community Futures Saskatchewan.
He is past Chair of Community Futures Prince Albert and currently serves as a director serving on the Finance Committee.
Steve also has past experience as a Director of the Community Initiatives Fund of Saskatchewan. In addition to his community development roles, he is President of the Prince Albert Pistol and Rifle Club, reflecting his long-standing engagement in local volunteerism and civic leadership. Steve spends free time at the lake with family and dabbles in amateur shotgun sports.

Betty Makelki
Director
Betty is retired after a 30 year career in post-secondary education, the last several years as Program Head of the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She volunteers in the community being a member of both the Mont St Joseph Care Home foundation board and St. Joseph parish. Her hobbies are reading, walking her dogs, and spending as much time as she can with her daughters and granddaughters.
